THE TULIP FARM STORY

Hi everyone! I hope you had a good start to the new year filled with optimism! And yes, we will have  new beginnings and new stories,  that will became lasting memories.  I wanted to  share one of the most beautiful adventures from our last vacations, I could not leave it unnoticed, from so many that we had, especially this one it will be in my little one corner of inspiration.

Amsterdam Central 9:00 am, we took the excursion bus that will take us to the world famous Keunkenhof Garden, the one that opens its doors to thousands of visitors on spring season.

Llegamos y cuanta emocion ver flores, flores y mas flores! Pero… y los Tulipanes? Oh sorpresa!

We arrived and felt very excited to see flowers, flowers and more flowers! ... and the Tulips? Oh surprise! Most were still bulbs and barely opened, that amazing flowering that I saw in documentaries and magazines were not totally ready, apparently we arrived to early; I felt a little sad and disappointed   because I wanted to see the garden booming  and the fields full, as I had seen in the movies hahha...

Ok!

Ok! with the imminent insistence of the Hernandez family we decided to stay, that is to say the bus of the excursion left us (around 4:30 pm) the "daring visitors" Los Hernandez could not stay without seen the beautiful tulips field, exploring  we arrived to a near stand booth to rent bikes in the outskirts of the Keunkenhof Garden and with a lot of cold weather, we rode ours bikes through the rural area (I was singing Carlos Vives' bicycle song, there is evidence haha) I felt like a butterfly, we were looking for true tulips fields and typical farms; We wanted admire this exotic and delicate flowers in its highest splendor, that flower made us fly up to the Netherlands!

We pedaled about 5 km, in the course already began to see hyacinths and Daffodils ... But and the Tulips? Where do are they?! We cannot give up, "we have to go a little more" we said...

And so, pedaling a bit more, Bingo! There they was, a beautiful Tulip farm the tulips were almost completely open, but what do you think? They were private property and it with two sweet keepers sitting on their terrace, next to the entrance! I felt so bad, so far from the city and even more from the hotel where we stayed (I don't overdo it, but it felt horrible) It turned out that the two sweet guardians, an adorable senior couple seeing us, were alerted and we crossed the fingers very kindly asked him to let us in as we came from so far only to see the blossom of spring and we could not find something so typical and real! And so it was that the sweet Dutch couple without a rifle, without angers and speaking an almost perfect English (says my husband jjj) they let us enter their farm, where strated the story of the almost 50 photos and one dream more come true! But that's not all, Oh surprise when we leave the farm I see the old woman with a bouquet of flowers in her hands, I thought, what a cute! And she said us: Today, You are the first people, who ask us for authorization to enter to our farm, that's why I have this ones for you (my throat became tight); It was an emotional moment, beautiful, rewarding, we were so exciting for, and we forgot to take pictures with the dear grandparents, but no to my little flowers.

Being almost 7:00 p.m., we left that place, we were far almost 6 km towards the bike stand, we arrived and we had time to take the last bus to Amsterdam Central, the Cityyyy (super happy)! In that moment we were all local people, and with laughters on the way I remember that I said to my husband "Today we graduated as tourists, let’s celebrate with a beer!"

Have a great Year!
